Here’s Hope : “Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am your God
And will still give thee aid; I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.” “How Firm A Foundation” by John Rippon’s “Selection of Hymns”
Word of GOD : Luke 2: 9-11 ( “ Do not be afraid”....)
Consider This: This morning I heard one of the most encouraging messages to date concerning the coronavirus. The message I heard was not on Christian radio, but on a secular TV morning show. The news trio, 2 men and one woman were interviewing Cardinal Timothy Dolan, of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC.
Cardinal Dolan responded to their questions about the dilemma of how we should cope with these uncertain days. He wisely responded, “the Old Testament & the New Testament contain 365 “fear not” statements, one for each day of the year.” What simple but profound truth. Today we should remind ourselves that God is with us, Emannuel. As we reflect on the beautiful words of Luke when the angel spoke to the shepherds, “fear not” , we are blessed to realize, a Savior has been born for us and He is waiting for you today. Have you trusted in Him as your Savior?
Prayer: Merciful and loving Father, help us to trust in your Son today. Reassure us, that your Holy Spirit is with us, even now. Teach us anew, to not be afraid. Thank you for being our “Emmanuel.” We praise You because You are our God ! Amen.
