SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
9:45am-10:45am
Sunday School is the educational body of the church where qualified people lead the class members in instructional time of divine truth. Sunday School is an important evangelical tool for the church to grow disciples of Christ in direct support of the Great Commission as found in Matthew 28: 18-20.
North Run Baptist Church has Sunday School classes for all ages. Almost all of the classes use literature “from LifeWay Christian Resources, which is the Southern Baptist publishing company and the home of the Southern Baptist Sunday School Board.” Class offerings are highlighted below.
Babies and Ones: Our youngest attendees meet in the Pre-School Suite. Terry Shifflett and Valerie Fields love and cuddle them. The babies nap or observe the ones as they blow bubbles, play with toys, learn how to share, and thank God for snacks. After Sunday School, another set of adult playmates joins the babies and ones for the Extended Session hour.
Twos and Threes: The twos and threes meet in the Pre-School Suite. Angie Brock and Donna Ferguson teach them Bibles stories and have them participate in activities requiring skills to engage their minds and bodies. After Sunday School, another set of adult leaders joins them for the Extended Session hour.
Fours-Kindergartners: Fours through Kindergartners meet in the Preschool Suite. Tina Kain and Susan Skillin share lessons with them based on Bible Studies for Life literature that is age appropriate. After Sunday School, they “transform” into Mission Friends with adult leaders who teach them about mission work around the world.
Grades 1-2: The 1st and 2nd graders meet in Room 209. Their leaders are Jean Hicks and Ann Wellman. The class uses age-appropriate Bible Studies for Life.
Grades 3-4: The 3rd and 4th graders meet in Room 205. Their leaders are Carrie Arnall and Tami Hatch. The class uses age-appropriate Bible Studies for Life.
Grades 5-6: The 5th and 6th graders meet in Room 207. Their leaders are Beth Ward and Kim Hewitt. The class uses the Forged curriculum.

Mission Friends - Babies-Kindergarten
11:00am
Each Sunday Babies-Kindergarten children can be a part of Mission Friends. Mission Friends is a program created by the Women’s Missionary Union’s (WMU).
As noted on the WMU website, the children’s time in this hour will be focused on helping them come to understand that God loves me, God loves all people, and some people do not know about God’s love. Through engaging activities, games and stories each week, Mission Friends will move from a focus on self to a focus on others. This builds a lasting foundation that helps them grow into the next generation of Christ followers who will fulfill His Great Commission.
