This is the seed of a great spiritual hunger

This weekend’s spiritual focus included a church wide call to prayer – “Standing Together on Our Knees.” This was a significant event where 60 of the church spent time alone, or in one case as a family, with young children in prayer, reading the Word of God, and in reverent worship. This is true vibrancy in church. This is the walls of the church being knocked down and the doors of our hearts unlocked by the presence and stirring of the Holy Spirit. This is the seed of a great spiritual hunger and harvest.

How am I so confident of this fact?  Because as I opened my emails I would read thoughtful responses like this one from Brenda Clarke.

“What a special time of prayer I have had. I felt God leading me as I prayed and read scripture. I am so thankful for this time. And my trust in God was overwhelmingly confirmed. I know God will answer our prayers in a mighty and powerful way.” - Brenda Clarke

For this season churches are gathering online. Psalm 111:1 states this: “Praise the LORD! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.” The good news is that you can be heard giving praise through today’s post.

The devotional post you are reading has been enabled for your responses and comments.  It would be an incredible encouragement to the family of God at North Run if you would post a reflection on your experience with the Lord.  This will serve as a digital marker stone for us as we reflect on and see the power and flow of the Spirit of God through each person.   Please contribute in this way as your are led and able.

Let’s give thanks to the LORD with your whole heart as the gathered - scattered church of God!
